Throughout the year, vehicles operating across a breadth of industries went through stringent preparation and delivery checks before registration. During which the workshop team, comprising of 15 technicians, managed to carry out a massive 85% more pdi’s than they did in 2018.
A large part of the increase in pre-delivery inspections came from a Felixstowe based customer, Maritime Transport Ltd. The privately-owned multi-modal specialist put 333 new Scania’s on the road in 2019, all of which were prepared and delivered through Stowmarket. The new artics, a combination of R410 and R450 6×2/2 Highlines with sleeper cabs have since gone out to various Maritime sites across the UK.
Matthew Castle, Stowmarket Depot Manager, comments; “The team pulled out all the stops last year. And it’s not just about volume; we pride ourselves on the quality, accuracy and speed of our process. It’s important to us that our customers get their chosen vehicle ready for when they need it.”
Key to the process is working closely with internal departments, suppliers and of course the customers themselves. Many variables are involved and over the years the team at TruckEast knows to expect the unexpected, but experience shows that by having strong open relationships with all involved it ensures a smooth delivery.
“It’s great to see our continued relationship with customers such as Maritime, who turn to Scania as their chosen marque. This latest generation Scania is a fantastic product and it’s our job as TruckEast to ensure our service levels in every element match this. By doing so, we can keep our customer promise of keeping their business moving.” adds Managing Director, John Biggin.
