On Friday 12 January the Road Haulage Association was pleased to welcome Runnymede and Weybridge MP, Philip Hammond to their Surrey-based office.

RHA chief executive Richard Burnett said: “We were very pleased that Mr Hammond was able to take time to visit us and hear about the work we do to support our 7,000 members, a number of whom are based in his constituency. We also spoke about our work on behalf of the sector as a whole.

“We discussed three key issues of major concern to the industry: the skills shortage, Brexit and fuel duty.

“We were encouraged to hear his views on the sector responsible for moving 90% of the UK economy and we hope our meeting will further strengthen the already good relationship between the RHA and the Treasury.”
