PK Marine, specialists in export packing, have recently assisted a client based in India with the movement of a steel line from the UK.

The project involved working closely with a dismantling agent in order to successfully ship the load to India. The job also included cleaning machinery that had been in place for over 30 years and hadn’t been in production for over 5 years, along with protecting delicate areas of machinery from rust damage.

The 5-month project also saw the PK Marine team packing large machinery, including timber skids, heat shrink-wrapped bases, and timber cases, and loading containers, GPs OT’s FR and a number of breakbulk items too large for containers.

From the initial site visits to the last container being sent to the port, PK Marine oversaw the entire project to ensure a smooth transition at all stages of the project.

By completion 75 loads were sent, made up of 63 containers, 6 Flat racks and 6 Breakbulk loads – a grand total of 1750 tonnes of cargo.

The load is currently being installed as part of a new manufacturing site.
