Dynamic Duo: RCS Logistics shortlisted for prestigious award

RCS Logistics, a division of the Rhenus Group, and Ontex, the leading manufacturer of personal hygiene products, are celebrating being shortlisted in the Supply Chain Partnership category of the prestigious Global Freight Awards. As part of a long-established partnership, RCS Logistics has helped NHS supplier Ontex go paper-free.

The award nomination is a testament to the success of Ontex’s new transport management system. In contrast to the previous system, the new process enables patient data to be inputted directly into software which organises drop-offs at patients’ homes in the most cost- and energy- efficient way. The new system has seen zero complaints about deliveries from NHS Trusts or end users, demonstrating an increase in patience satisfaction.

The partnership has resulted in significant savings to date, as well as preventing 43 tonnes of CO2 emissions being released into the atmosphere.

David Williams, managing director of Rhenus Logistics UK, commented: “It’s great to see our long-lasting partnership with Ontex recognised at such a high level.
We have been able to deliver truly ground-breaking operational changes with Ontex and are looking forward to further developing the relationship as we head towards the new year.”

The nomination for the Supply Chain Partnership award is the latest success story for Rhenus. Alongside opening new facilities across Europe, Australia, and the Americas, Rhenus has also secured a string of new business wins and achieved renewed AEO and ISO accreditations.
