European Businesses Eager for Information
Brexit Webinar Success

The response from attendees at a recent Brexit webinar hosted by Europa Road demonstrates the huge appetite for expert advice, as the end of the transition period nears, in less than 40 days.

Operating the UK’s largest European groupage hub, Europa Road is part of pioneering independent logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group.

It has been reported that HMRC estimates there will be around 6.3m movements of goods under transit arrangements in 2021. It’s therefore essential that businesses are ready so as reduce the negative impact on the import and export of goods.

Europa’s webinar was led by its Brexit team including Dionne Redpath and Head of Customs, Lieven Hendrickx, who was recently appointed to lead the multi-country Customs Operation, as part of Europa’s Brexit solution.

Over a 1000 people signed up for the free event with attendees from 13 different countries, with over 200 questions. They listened to Europa’s Brexit team share helpful, practical advice on how businesses could ensure they are ready.

Sales and Branch Network Director at Europa, Dionne Redpath, added “As a leading logistics provider we have invested heavily in getting ready for the end of the transition period. Our team has spent the last two years looking at every scenario to find innovative, slick solutions to simplify operations for our customers.

“We had listeners from across the globe participate including the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Finland, Ireland, Italy, UAE, USA and Luxembourg all hungry for practical information.

“We’re pleased to be able to share that knowledge, so that they are ready, providing guidance, advice and solutions, we want to give businesses everything they need to ensure a smooth start to 2021 without totally confusing them. We want customers to focus on their bit, safe in the knowledge that we’ve got our bit sorted.”

The webinar follows the launch of Europa Road’s new product, Europa FLOW, their simple, frictionless customs solution, which is designed to preserve transit times and the flow of goods between the UK and Europe.

The product is the latest in a series of investments Europa has made since the EU referendum to ensure the business and its customers are ready. Last year, Europa invested in becoming AEO Accredited, spent over £2m in its Dartford transit warehouse to increase racking capacity by 75 per cent, as well as spending a further £2m on IT. It has also supported customers by providing Brexit face to face workshops across the UK last year.

Europa Worldwide Group has six divisions – Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, Europa Showfreight, Europa Warehouse, Europa Contact Centre and Continental Cargo Carriers and has featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years running. Europa recently revealed its results for year-ending 31st December 2019, showing another 16.5 per cent growth with a record turnover of £205million.
