BERGÉ and ECL intensify regular line service between Spain and the Caribbean to boost business activity
Vertraco Shipping and BERGÉ (https://bergelogistics.com/en/home/), as its representative agent in Spain, will intensify commercial activity between our country and the Caribbean and the northern coast of South America, through the regular Europe Caribbean Line (ECL), with calls at the ports of Bilbao and Santander, being able to call any port in northern Spain (subject to inducement).

In this way, the aim is to boost commercial activity with the Caribbean market and to recover the volume of sales to the region – close to 1,800 million euros, according to ICEX – prior to the current crisis.

The synergies between the Spanish and Dutch companies will boost the commercial activity of the Caribbean region with Europe. This monthly service also includes regular calls from the ports of Antwerp (Belgium), Vlissingen and Rotterdam (Netherlands), Hull (United Kingdom), Bridgetown (Barbados) , Georgetown (Guyana), Paramaribo (Suriname), Point Lisas (Trinidad) and Matanzas/Palua (Venezuela) – being one of the few regular lines regularly calling this last country. Serving other destinations such as St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada and Dominica through Bridgetown as hub port.

As a result of reinforcing the regular line from Spain, the most favored sectors will be those related to iron and steel industry, rolling stock and yachts and all kind of manufacturing industry, including project cargo.

In this way, northern Spain is consolidated as the backbone of import and export activity to the Caribbean and northern South America, and places BERGÉ in a prominent position in international markets, especially on the other side of the Atlantic coast.
