Commenting on this news Dieter Vornhagen, Chairman of the Board of Airport Development A/S said, “I along with my business development team are delighted to have concluded this significant investment by Panattoni. This investment is a clear sign of the confidence this world-‐leading logistics real estate developer has for the Leipzig area and in particular for the prospects moving forward of Leipzig Airport. As a global hub for DHL and surrounded by numerous tier one automotive and other manufacturing clusters, plus a booming consumer population of more than 17 million people living within 1.5 hours, Leipzig Airport is fast being recognised as a major ecommerce cargo airport and one which the logistics industry and freight forwarding community are being drawn ever closer towards.”

This news by Panattoni follows on from three other major deals secured at Airport Park Leipzig Halle which includes Autohof 24 Group, who will build a signature large-‐scale autostop and trucking park, their biggest development in Germany on 45,000 sqm of land at the park. Max Weishaupt Industries have taken 15,000 sqm of land for their own developments and the leasing arm of Austrian Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich have taken up a 28,000 sqm building. All three companies have already indicated further purchases are under consideration with a number of building permits about to be issued.

The popularity of the park now sees just two existing buildings available for lease or purchase (28,0000 sqm & 39,000 sqm). These buildings are ideally suited for air cargo, logistics and ecommerce purposes and benefit from full utility connections and road success. These properties are being marketed by BNP Paribas Real Estate (Leipzig). A plot of 45,000 sqm is also available for development and is ready to be built on at Airport Park Leipzig Halle which also benefits from a direct railroad access line making it a true intermodal air, rail and road logistics land bridge facility, located just 800 metres from Leipzig Airport.
