The 10th annual meeting of Africa Logistics Network (ALN) and the 5th of Airfreight Logistics Network for Africa (ALNA) will be held in Bangkok from November 10 to 13, 2024, at the Hilton Millennium Hotel. As announced last year in Nairobi, and in line with the principle of alternating locations—one year in Africa, the following year in one of the other continents—the event is set for Thailand’s capital.
The Network has experienced steady growth in only 10 years, having now over 220 members worldwide, 80 of them based in Africa with a full coverage of the continent. Additionally, around 100 members from the “sister network,” dedicated to airfreight forwarders, Airfreight Logistics Network for Africa (ALNA), also participating to the meeting.

The main part of the conference, after the welcome speech by the Chairman Marcello Saponaro and the presentation of the main sponsor, the Polish company Pol-Inowex, a global leader in Industrial Relocation represented by its Vice President, Bartosz Swiderek, will be dedicated to one-on-one meetings between the attendees. This “business speed dating” format allows ALN and ALNA members to meet and deepen their relationships. Social events will also take place during breaks, lunches and dinners at some of Bangkok’s finest restaurants.

“My father founded ALN because we wanted to strengthen our logistic company’s presence in Africa – says Marcello Saponaro – and not to create yet another forwarding network. The goal was to select the best small and medium-sized companies in Africa and integrate them into a global network of agents, covering all continents and, therefore, 100% of the African territory.”

“And we did it – continues Saponaro – Today, ALN is the network with the most extensive coverage in Africa. If you’re a forwarder and you need an agent in any African country, join the Africa Logistics Network.”

As usual, the highlight of the event will be the Gala Dinner with the Awards Ceremony, where the best network members, as voted by fellow members, will be honored. The dinner and ceremony will take place aboard the Chao Phraya Princess cruise ship on the evening of November 12.

Two member companies from ALN and ALNA will be awarded in each of the six categories:

1. Worldwide Top Agents
2. Africa Top Agents
3. Middle East Top Agents
4. Asia & Oceania Top Agents
5. Americas Top Agents
6. Europe Top Agents

The two winners in the “Africa” and “Worldwide” categories will receive, in addition to the trophy and title for one year, free membership for 2025.

After three days of meetings, the group will enjoy a “Leisure Day” visiting the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, two hours by bus from Bangkok.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary and in memory of the founder, Alessandro Saponaro, who passed away on July 29, each of the 200 participants will receive a 2 carats blue topaz. After all, Bangkok is also known as the Asian capital of colored gemstones.
