CDN connection with ICL saves carriers time and cost

Car Delivery Network (CDN) is now able to provide real-time vehicle delivery data to ICL (for OEMs using ICL), replacing multiple manual processes for smaller carriers, saving time and reducing costs, as well as increasing accuracy and improving their performance scorecards with OEMs.

The new CDN option for realtime data feed into ICL means that carriers no longer need to rely on manual processes to send R41 data reports to the OEM. Now, carriers using the vinDELIVER ePOD solution will be able to benefit from the new direct connection to ICL, which will update contracted carriers and/or OEMs automatically.

Jamey Key, VP of Jack Key Auto Transport is one of the first carriers to take advantage of the CDN connection to ICL. “Despite our drivers using vinDELIVER ePOD to advise us that vehicles had been delivered, our customers were not being similarly advised. We were having to manually send R41 data 4 times a day to a 3rd party EDI company to avoid any impact on our OEM scorecard rating. Now that CDN connects to ICL,  the moment our driver delivers on his ePOD device, the data is immediately transmitted both to us and ICL. This latest development has saved us time, money and hassle as we take our OEM performance metrics very seriously.”

CDN’s promise to carriers is ‘connect once’. When a carrier connects to the CDN cloud platform, all data connections to 3rd party systems are taken care of by CDN. Should another entity’s system (e.g OEM, Rail, Port, Inspection / Claims Management) need data or a status update then CDN connects to that entity and pushes the data accordingly, in real-time.

Derric Hicks, newly appointed General Manager of CDN in the US said, “We are always open to listening to our customers and wherever possible respond proactively. Accordingly, we were delighted to create the connection to ICL for Jack Key, a valuable customer who has been with us since FCA first mandated the CDN ePOD requirement. Naturally, many other customers will also benefit from the CDN connectivity to ICL and we are anxious to learn of any other value-add connections we can offer to our customers.”

He added, “These connections fit the company vision and reinforce the CDN belief that everyone benefits from being better connected. The real-time ICL data feed is now part of the vinDELIVER service for carriers.”

Wayne Pollock, co-founder of CDN said, “The connection to ICL is another example of the outbound automotive supply chain getting joined up and collaborating. The era of the expensive ‘point to point’ EDI data networks are slowly being replaced with the ‘mesh’ data network offered by cloud technology platforms like ours. What this means to the industry is that everyone can benefit from greater visibility and control of the vehicle supply chain at a lower cost.”
